Are You Seated?

Unless you are lucky enough to fly everywhere First class, flying can be a necessary evil for getting from A to B.

In this day and age most of us check in online to ensure we don’t get that dreaded middle seat or to make sure we get a window. Whatever your requirements we could all do with helping hand to make the journey a little more comfortable.

Before choosing your seat make sure you check out www.seatguru.com

By selecting your airline and type of carrier, Seat Guru will give you the specific details of seats with limited recline, reduced legroom, misaligned windows as well as the locations of the gallery, lavatories and exit rows.

A good seat will get the trip of to a good start. It may not be the same as First class but just while you are waiting for that lotto win……

No Place is Boring

Have you ever spoken to someone who has just gotten back from an overseas trip (or domestic trip for that matter) who has all these greats stories of adventures and experiences that they had while on holiday. You find yourself saying to yourself how great it sounds and you wish that those sorts of things could happen to you, but they probably won’t.

The most enjoyable and exciting things that happen whilst on holidays aren’t the things that Lonely Planet or Getaway tell you to go and do.

Of course these things are great and can give you insight into the culture and history of your chosen destination, but they are rarely experiences that let you feel from a local’s perspective what it is really like to live there. You think that these things only happen to other people who were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.

Having experienced being on both sides of the above conversation, I’ll let you in on a little secret, you too can have the time of your lives over and over again, and you don’t have to fork out $30 for a Lonely Planet guide. And here it is….have fun, get out there, try new things, try everything, meet as many people as possible, be open to new experiences, and remember on holidays you can be whoever you want.

I grew up in Canberra, Australia, and for those of you who don’t know, Canberra has a reputation for being one of the most boring cities in Oz. Most people I meet have a negative opinion about Canberra despite only having visited once on a year 5 excursion or worse never having visited at all. So tell me who is more boring, the people who pass judgment without little or no experience of something, or the people who get out there, have a go, and have a great time trying new things regardless of where they are.

If you’re not one of the boring ones, then welcome to the site, this is where you belong.
