On a business trip in Dubai, my boss and I had some downtime and asked the hotel concierge what there is to do. My boss was keen on dune bashing and, not knowing what it was, I went along for the ride. For those, like me, that are unaware.. dune bashing is driving around in the desert in a 4x4.
Because there are a lot of dunes in the desert, you get quite a bumpy ride and soon, I was feeling pretty nauseaus somewhere in the desert at the back of a car. Now, if you're the one driving, I'm pretty sure it would be a lot of fun but when you're in the back of the car, it's not that great.
We came to a stop after a little while in the middle of the desert where a number of stalls had been set up and food was available. You could ride the camel, surf down the sand on a snowboard, get henna tattoos, and this was a bit more enjoyable.
Would I recommend this? I'd much prefer to do the driving but the dinner and stuff after the dune bashing was more enjoyable.
